Malaga

A sunny city on the south coast of Spain with ancient Roman ruins and a fortress on the hill.
Views from the Castillo de gibralfaro
An excellent view vantage point to watch the sunset, it's just a short walk from the city center. The light creates a magical glow over the city and mountains in the distance.

You can walk back down to town and pass the vantage point directly above the Plaza de Toros (La Malagueta). If you look closely you can see them training.
Walking around Malaga
Visit the Roman theatre (Teatro Romano de Malaga) that was discovered in 1951 after being buried for centuries, admission was free. The oranges don't taste as good as they might look. If you head down to the beaches, you'll find lots of people fishing. There was a group of men fishing for several hours and they didn't catch anything, then a couple arrived and within five minutes the woman had caught a fish. She got the last laugh cause they had tried to tell her what to do when they arrived, they left after an hour with a bucket full of fish.
My Tips
Food: Casa Lola - service is a bit hit-or-miss depending on time and if you're sitting on the patio. But the food was good, just be prepared to wait.
Culture: They have a huge street party to turn on the Christmas lights for the season that are hung on the pedestrian shopping street.
Transport: Everything is pretty concentrated in the centre and I walked everywhere. If you come from the airport you can buy a train ticket for 6 Euros to get to the Malaga Maria Zambrano Train Station in 22 minutes.
Safety and vibes: It wasn't super busy in November, but summers will likely be more busy, especially by the beach.
